On Monday evening at 1914 hours, Engine 52 had just arrived back at the station from an EMS assist when St. Mary's Communications dispatched a reported house fire on Long Road in Clements. Engine 52 immediately responded with 6 personnel. Engine Tanker 51 followed behind with an additional 5 personnel. Chief 1A arrived and located a two story house with smoke showing from the second floor.

Engine 52 laid a supply line from the end of the driveway which was picked up by Engine Tanker 51. Chief 5 established the command and assigned Chief 1A the division two supervisor. Crews encountered heavy smoke and heat conditions and located the hallway floor leading to the fire room was compromised.

Crews worked to secure the area and access the fire from the interior while Company 2 units took a line through a division two window on the alpha side of the house. Engine 52 and Engine Tanker 51s crews were able to make a push in the hallway to extinguish the fire.

Truck 1 conducted a primary search and additional personnel from Engine Tanker 14, Squad 5 and Engine 1015 established the RIT. All other crews formed a manpower pool in the front yard and were utilized throughout the incident.

Engine 23 handled the water supply and drafted from a folding tank where the Tankers dumped water. The fire was deemed under control within 20 minutes. Truck 7 conducted a secondary search and Squad 5 secured the utilities.

The Maryland State Fire Marshals Office is conducting the investigation into the cause of the fire. No injuries were reported at the incident scene. Crews operated on the scene for approximately 3 hours before returning to quarters. Thanks to Engine 93 for filling in at our station while we operated.
