Thursday night at 2103 hours, Station 5, Squad 5, EMS 59 and 19 were alerted to a motor vehicle accident on Maddox Road in the area of Bushwood Post Office. Fireboard advised two vehicles were involved with an unknown amount of injuries. Captain 5 arrived on the scene, followed by Squad 5, locating four patients with no entrapment. Chief 5 established the command.

Crews secured the vehicles while EMS evaluated the patients. A helicopter was requested for one patient and the others were transported to MedStar St. Mary's Hospital. Ambulances 599 and 198 transported the patients so SMH. Ambulance 597 transported the patient to the landing site which was established by Engine 52 at Dynard Elementary School. Trooper 7 flew the patient to Suburban Hospital in Bethesda.

Squad 5 remained on the scene for a short time to assist with lighting. All units returned to quarters within an hour.
