On Thursday morning at 0446 hours, Stations 5, 1, 2, 7, Truck 1, Truck 7, Charles Squad 2, EMS 59 and 29 were alerted to a house fire on Windy Lane in Colton's Point. Fireboard advised a neighbor called reporting a house fire. Engine 52 arrived on scene and dropped a supply line from Colton Point Road. Upon arrival they located a two story house with heavy fire conditions on Side C and on the second level of the home. Chief 5 arrived on scene and established the command. All occupants were out of the house upon arrival of units.

Engine 52 stretched a hand line to the first level of the home and began an attack on the fire. Tanker 51 was next arriving and pulled a line to the Side D exposure knocking down the fire on the exterior before assisting with the interior attack. Tanker 5 set up their folding tank and Engine 23 was utilized as the draft pumper. Crews from Engine 14, 23 and Truck 1 arrived and assisted with the fire attack. Four attack lines were placed in service from Engine 52.

Charles Squad 2 was utilized for RIT. Truck 7 assisted with opening up the structure and securing utilties. Once the fire was brought under control the additional crews assisted with conducting overhaul. Engine 72 set up a draft site at Station 5. The tanker shuttle ran for approximately one hour.

Crews continued to operate for approximately two and a half hours hitting hot spots to ensure the fire was out. SMECO responded to the scene to secure power lines that fell from the house. The State Fire Marshals Office was requested to investigate the cause. The fire still remains under investigation.

All units cleared the scene and returned to quarters at 0730 hours.
